As a part of the process, constructive criticism is necessary to view your work in multiple perspectives. I asked 4 of my classmates to look over my magazine components and list few positive and negative comments to help improve it.
The first person said how they liked the color palete since it complemented very nicely to the images and with the the color together. They also like how the colors were consistent through the pages. However, they thought that the color and format of the cover lines needed to be changed because it didn't look good and was hard to read. After seeing their perspective I saw that I could look better with that advice. So I changed the color from black to white and moved it right and down a little to not look weird. After that I adjusted the central image to fit good with the updated cover lines.

After I made that adjustment to the cover, I asked someone else and they said that they liked the photos of Gustavo, the artist, working on the art in the Q&A article since it adds consistency compared to just the photos of the art. They said they also liked the gold and blue details on the background since it fills in what would have been empty space. However, they felt that that I should add borders to the images like i did for the page and text circles since it would make the photos stand out more to the background color. I thought that was good advice since I felt somehting was missing and this added to the look.
After I asked a third person and they said that they liked the color palette like the first person said and the layout of the Q&A page is good since it looks balanced. However they felt that the red paint splatter on the table of contents page looked like blood and after they told me that I saw it too. So I used a color that was incorporated through the Q&A - blue. The blue adds the same effect and looks just as good.
I asked the last person and they siad they liked the quote on the table of contents page since it looks professional. They also like the photo since it makes the artist give off a good, kind feeling to the reader. However, they felt that I should add an introductiory text to the Q&A page for better flow and I agree. It adds context and previous information to what will be brought up in the interview.
I am glad I asked these people about their opinions on my magazine because it makes it look better and makes me feel more confident about the elements. This activity opened my perspective to what the magazine would look like to a fresh mind and I felt this especially when I was told the paint splatter looked like blood. I decided to incorporate all of the critiques into the magazine because after I was more aware of these details I felt the magazine would look better with the changes.
