My goals for the first genre photoshoot were to capture different styles of food culturally. The styles of food consisted of mostly Israeli plus extra Asian and sweet cuisine. Throughout the experience, there were a few struggles that I came across such as lighting. There was a time when I was taking pictures but the food was served at night so it was difficult to find lighting that didn't look too overwhelming with added lights but not too dim with regular overhead lighting. Though the lighting was a struggle, I was able to successfully deliver a set of photos with good lighting that were ultimately presentable.
After the presentation, I received class critiques and feedback with features to take into consideration next time, what I should keep doing, and what should be avoided. Overall most of the feedback was about the struggle with lighting, but also to keep in mind the background. This meant those little details such as plates, distracting pieces, and such. However, many also love the variety of photos and although some photos could use some work, others were nice. Using the feedback, I know that next time I should pay attention to these details when I take the photos so I don't struggle with lighting and look for pieces in the background that would be better for the photo out of the frame.

In these pictures, they delivered an Israeli style of food on a Friday night, Shabbat dinner. These two photos are examples that were clean and didn't consist of dim lighting or distracting background. There wasn't any negative feedback for these examples.

These four photos were the ones that received feedback about the background. Each photo could have a more finished look if the background wasn't so messy. Like in the top photos they have a plate in the frame that could have been moved out to make the picture clean. The photo on the left had math homework in the frame that could have been moved to make the picture look better. And on the photo on the left, there is a hand and cup in the frame and if the angle was higher you wouldn't see those extra details.

This picture got negative feedback on the plates needing a clean-up to give it a finish. Such as on the hummus and salad having either spices or pieces of the food on the plate. If those details weren't there it wouldn't be distracting and make the picture look pleasing. However, there was positive feedback on the setup and lighting of the photo being cohesive.
