2nd Genre Photoshoot

For my second photoshoot, I decided to pick Art and Design since it is an aspect incorporated into my family and something I feel deeply about. With this set of photos, I wanted to show two different styles of art graffiti and painting. Graffiti is unique and almost always has a story or message. Each artist can create a new canvas over another artwork through the colors, shapes, and layers. Continuously, painting is one of my mom's many artistic passions and I wanted to pay homage to her beautiful artwork. Her paintings have a special style that makes her work stand out from any other. Therefore, I chose to show my respect for the anonymous and very familiar artists and their unique work with this photoshoot.

This photo out of the entire set was successful because of the unique features of the photo including angle, color, style, and shapes. This specific angle captures the central focus being the unique white shape that stretches across the wall and even on the floor. This angle allows the viewer to see the entire artwork and extra pieces that go beyond, above, and below it. The color and shapes in the photo from the way it is angeled show the irregular shapes and bold colors above the bland and worn-out wall. The style of the artists shows all the layers of art and their unique styles and colors. There is nothing I would change about this photo because it really speaks a message and shows every artist's style.

These 5 photos are all painted by my mother and each painting delivers a story with its colors and strokes. I think I was successful at showing respect for my mom's style and beautiful talent by creating a professional effect with simplicity. The photos have lighting that complements what is in the picture so the colors stand out and look better. The paintings are taken to suit the canvas whether it be landscape or portrait and the frame only shows the work and nothing beyond it. My teacher suggested that I bring more variety to the angles by showing the frame or a background to the painting. This is something I would change and do next time because the photos need more difference when it comes to how the photos were taken and what is in them.
